Bandit golf balls-anyone tried them?

Illegal for competition play but might be fun to try & see how far they actually go

They sell something like that in sportdirect. About £6 a doz.

I tried a non conforming Condor golf ball once. It was as hard as a rock, and pretty long. Sadly, I hit it the second time into a pond, so I could not repeat my experiment.

I can't see why any one would spend $30 on a dozen non conforming balls.
