After reading the winter ball thread, i think ive become a ball snob. Not so much a brand snob but i have definately become picky over what i will and wont use.

DX3 in the summer, AD333 in the winter. THATS IT!

Anything i find on the course from penta's, Prov1, Pro1x, NXT's or what ever else is on the market, if it isnt one of them two balls, its goes in the shed in a bucket... and another bucket... and another bucket...

Its got that bad in the shed i must have 5/6 buckets of mixed balls covering just about every ball maker on the market.

Please tell me im not alone...... im sure i just dont like change.

I've become partial to the Wilson FG Tours, but nowhere sells them apparently. Going to ask for some Bridgestone's for Chrimbo to use next spring to see what they're like and some DX2's for the winter to see if they're alright since they're a decent price.

I do like the new Z Star XV's though. Swinger gave me a sleeve in exchange for my old stand bag and they're really, really nice.

don't really get on with ProV1's.

Nope. You like what you like. I'm not remotley bothered if people think its the wrong ball or they play a better ball.
I've finally settled on my ball of choice, Bridgestone Tour B330-S. Unless I'm playing like a chump I wont play anything else.

Titlest only in the bag OS , anything else i find or get go in an old golf shoe bag , usualy dish them out to the fun golfers in our society who dont care once its round .. pro v for the good weather , pts /dts solo or nxt for the mucky weather

not a massive Prov1 fan, changed to prov1x this year and its better but I'm still searching for that ball that feels right off the driver/irons/around the green and putting

Yeah Im exactly that, a ball snob.

Ill only use two type's of balls - the Bridgestone B330s (first choice) or Pro v1.

Im same as you oddsocks if I find a ball I wont use it, it goes into the practise bag when I get home.
Ive got a bit of a problem too when it comes to cut up balls or scuffs, I wont even start a round with a ball thats got scuffs on it.

I think I need some help (counselling) with this problem as its costing me a bloody fortune!!

There is a difference between Brand snob and brand loyal.

A snob only uses the most expensive ones cos they are the best. A brand loyal guy uses the same grand every time for uniformity/familiarity.

Only Titleist ProV1 users could be tarnished with this snob tag but even then, perhaps they are using them because they are still the best products out there. I use them during the summer as I want the softest ball on the market. During the winter the skin of the prov goes hard anyway so might as well use AD333 or similar.
Using mid range balls isnt snobbish, its just loyal.

I'm with you Oddsocks, mostly. Bridgestone RXs330 or Titleist NXT Tour. I will use a ProV if I find it, but Cally, Taylormade or anything else I fond goes in the practice bag or to my young'un.

its interesting how alot of people have 2 preferred choices in ball and thats it. the reason i do it if im honest is because if i put the same strike or close to it on the same brand & model ball im likely to get the somewhere near consistent results. it helps with knowing the distance of my irons, and the feel needed around the greens.

Really need to clean out the sheds though, lots of cally, titleist and most other brands in there too.

I will only use noodle or noodle+ balls. Anything I find on the course is either left there or goes into a bag to be given to my brother who isn't fussy about what he uses.

What might be the "best" for one person (or the tour pro's) is not the "best ball on the market" for all people. As said above your quality of strike, club speed, even your own course conditions, and a host of other things can mean that your playing the ball for your game.

.... of course many people simply buy Pro V1 because most pro's play them.

and these are normally the same people who hack them with a massive hook or massive fade because the ball is too spinny and lost them just as quick as they purchased them

For me it's sometimes down to my confidence levels, if I'm feeling good, I pull our a nice new NXT Tour, otherwise it's any old ball in my bag (within reason).

First choice, NXT tour.
