Ball Markers on the green

As a newbie I use either a Pink golf tee or a £2 coin. Are either acceptable for when I play in competitions?
Although you can use anything, I wouldn't recommend a pink tee. That's clearly going to cause a bit of disruption if somebody else hits a putt, slightly offline, and smack into it. A £2 maybe, although if I'm using a coin, I go for a 50p. Big enough to easily find it again, but flat enough not to usually distract other golfers if it is near their line. Or, just buy a regular flat ball , marker, they are not expensive (unless you buy a branded one in a club pro shop)

When I started i got a Titleist hat that has a ball marker stuck to it as a magnet, I use this. My club sells the poker chip ones but I always thought they’d adversely affect the putting line of hit and wouldn’t use one.

Think my pitch mark repair tool has one on it too.

This isn't that complicated.
If I used a casino chip as a marker, I'd be using it specifically to be a belligerent jerk.
And that's what this clown was doing as well.

What you do in this situation is go to your golf bag, remove the Walther PPK from your ball pocket, and shoot the tosser in the head.
OK, I'm just kidding. But half of you won't believe that!

Surprised you don't just use the gun as your ball marker.

I use a Liverpool FC ball marker - got it before this season before anyone asks or makes comment :ROFLMAO:!! Its probably just smaller than a poker chip marker but has a separate smaller marker inside it that clips off, if i want to use a smaller marker. I use the full size marker if I'm nowhere near anyone's line and use the smaller marker if I am close enough that it may distract someone putting. Too considerate for my own good.

YNWA :p

You could then drag his body across the green and use his head as a ball marker.

I have casino chip markers - but only because I'm sad and collect ball markers from all the courses I've visited. Not sure I've ever used one though. Think GM gave a load away with the magazine a while ago though!

I remember when I first started to watch golf on the TV. Brian Barnes was walking towards a green drinking from a half pint beer bottle. He then proceeded to use it as the ball marker.

I admit i do sometimes use a poker chip marker but have a couple with smaller magnetic inserts, so if I am close to the hole and others are putting out, i use the smaller insert (about 1p size). The main reason why I prefer the poker chip though is just that its easier to get out of a pocket, where i might also have a few tee or a pitch repair marker. I don't want to be rummaging around to find, say, a 5p size coin, quickly to mark my ball.
I did win an Augusta merchandise marker which is huge and doesn't have any removable insert - have never used that as it is just too big if close to the hole.

Thought you would have a rifle in that spare tube in your bag.

Tend to have a couple of poker sized markers and a couple of small ones in case I am close to another persons line or they don't want to be looking at a big marker. Hardly a problem to carry in my pocket and like the old boy scout "be prepared"
