What I'm saying is your argument doesn't stand because he was (apparently) approached by other clubs back in his day, but decided to stay loyal to Forest who were, at the time, a strong football club.

It's all about trophies, if he had genuine offers from Liverpool or Manchester Utd he'd have been off like a shot. You don't come to the end of your career and reminisce about top 10 finishes.

Loyalty is a fallacy, it's just a word used by clubs and players for their own benefit because it hooks in the one and only constant at any club, the fans.

Spoken like a glory-hunter and not a sports fan.

This point of view coincides with Sky's revisionist approach to football circa 1992. This notion of 'if you don't win things, you're rubbish' is garbage.

Oh, and Man U were gash when Pearce was playing ;)

Yep, you got me there. I jumped on the Plymouth Argyle bandwagon in '71. Been nothing but glory since.

If Man Utd were gash during his career, he must have retired when the Premier League began?? :D I thought Pearce packed up playing in 97 ;) :p

Of course Pearce, being the famously big-headed, self-promoting type, would naturally pick himself usually as England's best...

...and the fact that he is part of the current England set-up would also have nothing to do with any motivational comments either...

Cole??
why do people rate him so highly?, he's not even the best left back in the premiership.
FFS he can't tackle, not great in the air... isn't a full back supposed to be able to defend?

Cole can't defend nor can Terry as he's too slow. The other two defenders must be working hard to only concede 3 goals this season?? ;)

Told you he couldn't defend! :D

I didn't mention Terry. He can defend. The fact that he is a total tw@t and poor excuse for a human being has nothing to do with his heart/desire on a football field.

You didn't mention Cech, i'm sure he has something to do with it.
