Are We Expecting New Mizuno Irons this Year?

It is a very marginal call as I could buy two new irons for that money but that would still leave me needing 4 more irons. I hope to get some money back for my current shafts although I am rather aware that they are a stock shaft in many other irons so I dont think they will be snapped up for huge bucks.

There is only two grams difference between the Dynalight XP and the PX, the PX are a little more stout and a lot lower launch. I guess I have done this as I want what I want. It will not change my life as we know its about the fleshy idiot at the end of the club that counts but... I want what I want.


AG wanted £320 for the same job, although clearly for new shafts. PX are expensive though so it will depend what you are after.

What are you after? KBS?

Yea, probably. I know a lot of people don't get on with them but I loved the feel of them in my mate's 59's. When/if I get it done I'll probably do the SwingDNA to see what shaft I'm suited for then shop around. I don't fancy paying too much as I only paid tuppence for the irons. If it works out too expensive I'll stick with what I have and wait until I upgrade my irons.

On my latest swing DNA(Ye I do it all the time) my 3 options were DG S300, PX 5.5 and KBS. The fitter did not even want me to hit the KBS as they are more mid/high launch but I hit them for the sake of it and I have to say they are a great feeling shaft. I note that they seem to be coming stock in alot of Taylor Made clubs this year.
 
I have KBS tour 90 stiff in my Adams CB2s. I find them fine to hit, but feel a bit light to swing. But then I feel the same with project X. I prefer the weight of the TTDG R/S300.

Are they 90 grams or is 90 just a name?

Going back to the Op, Mizuno seem to have adopted a two year cycle for their various lines. I had MP57s, which had a two year shelf life. The MP52s followed and they lasted for two years before being superseded.
I sold my MP57s to John_Findlay over a year ago to fund my current JPXPros, so I'd expect some tinkering to the JPX type model at the end of this year ready for next season.

It's usually July before the first whispers start to appear on GolfWRX and the first photo's soon follow.

Whatever they do, they'll be hard pressed to improve on their current lineup IMO.

Thanks very much DCB.... you know they will tell you they have when it happens. You do get the feeling with a quality company time Mizuno they they do not feel the need to constantly bring clubs out, although there is a pretty wide range in there stable to pick from I guess, They are no TM!
 
Back in the good old days, when I got my first set of Mizunos (MP30s), there was a three year cycle on most things. It at least gave you time to save up between changes ;)

MP 30 is still a good looking iron... when did you get them, do you remember?
 
Maybe the KBS aren't the shaft for me then as I get a pretty high launch/flight from the DG's as it is. Don't need any more! Could be totally wrong though, best to give them all a bash. Nearest SwingDNA place to me is over 40 miles though :(

I take it back... The KBS Tour are low launch low spin. I have not tried these. The Tour 90 is Mid/High.


Your S300 are low launch though, on the very low launch side.

Jan 2004, lovely club when you were swinging well, but could jump up and bite you hard when things were a bit off ;)

Of all the Mizuno clubs I've played, I'd say they looked nicest and when playing well, performed the best for me.
 
Im pretty sure somewhere i read that they renew every 2 years so i think 2010 was MP53/JPX 800 so they might get a re-fresh?
 
I've always used DG s300 in my irons and initially I bought my MP 53s of the rack with s300, but they felt like a poker, I just couldn't feel the weight of the club head, and couldn't get on with them.
I got myself fitted at Clays in Wrexham and the dynalite came out on top, For me it's been a great set up.

So I was hoping they'd bring out a MP 60 and I could pretend mine were new :whistle:
