his swing thoughts, how his course management was...yada, yada

I don't mind because I love golf and am happy to listen. I guess he could just tell me his score then we could talk about cars instead?.. or the weather?

I feel that I must reply to JOUK's refernce to self promoting etc on here.

I have been a member of this forum long before improvemygolf was an idea. So I did not join this forum to promote the business. I also sort the advice of Mike H and the mods before including any logo or URL link. Indeed the logo was reduced in size after a request from one of the mods. Which I duly did. Although it is still a lot smaller than some sigs on here.

I rarely make reference to the business, especially when you consider the number of posts I make. When I do make reference to it, it is more as a reply to a specific query or request or is relevant to the subject matter. I'll think you'll find that other forumers have mentioned the business a lot more than I have. How is that any different to someone recommending another retailer or product. Just because I'm on here, does that mean that no-one can mention my business?

It's not even as if my user name is linked with the business.

Can't really see the problem with contributors to the forum "promoting" their relevant enterprises, both Bob and Hapless have been active members so why not?

Loads of people say we should buy from our Pro etc etc so why not keep it in house?

Their is always the ignore button if you feel that strongly!

Bloggs are Ok, they allow you to ramble on at whatever pace you like.
Its like finishing a round and going to the clubhouse for a quiet drink and then being told how the round went, i was there remember.
when that happens I just say hang on while I put my boots back on.
Back to bloggs if someone has one let them promote it you can read or leave it all depends upom you.
