Anyone play or tried Ribbed Grips?

A warning about fitting ribbed grips to a driver.

If you have an adjustable hosel on your driver you will me gripping for 1 setting only. If you adjust the lofty via the hosel the rib will be in the wrong place.

Wont be a problem for Qwerty, his drivers only just into the Titanium age never mind adjustable

And he still hits it longer and straighter than me!! :(

Yes a good point but actually not strictly true, depends on the driver. I have a Titleist and the rib is in the correct position on 4 of the 16 possible settings.

In which case, put the grip on after adjusting to the required setting.

Let's face it, we virtually never change the setting anyway once we've found our preference.

Depends on the club. Titleist have the same shaft orientation for A1 (standard) and B1 (slight fade), and I switch between those, so am happy to use ribbed grips.

What are your thoughts on them?
I like the idea to be honest, I'd imagine they'd give a good feel as to where the club face is once you get used to them.
Any opinions..?

Most grips were ribbed until adjustable drivers came into being, since when there have been round ones so that you could change the loft or lie by rotating the shaft. Round grips feel just as good as ribbed ones to me!

Yes,yes and yes again :)

Just cellotape a straw to your grip mate, probably still go round in one over.:)
