What are your thoughts on them?
I like the idea to be honest, I'd imagine they'd give a good feel as to where the club face is once you get used to them.
Any opinions..?

Ribbed as in reminder grips?

Ethan has experience with these and likes them.

Personally I've never tried them but have been curious.

All my grips are reminder (or ribbed :p ) I find the feeling in my hand much more stable. Unfortunately there isn't much choice for ribbed grips these days.

No Phil, you can get the likes of the Tour Velvet with an inner rib than runs down the Shaft (settle down at the back). I think the idea is that the rib gives you a reminder of where the club face is throughout the swing.

I understand the concept, exactly as you describe.

In my experience I don't see how they work at all, a bit pie in the sky was what I thought when I tried them.

A lot of sets come with rib/reminders as standard, so many of you are probably using them without knowing.

Not all brands carry ribbed versions, though. The grip usually has a code which includes a number, usually .58 or .60 and a R denotes round.

I like them because I started off with them, so am used to them. You can get them in Tour Velvets, Lamkin Crossline, Multicompound and a few others. Not in Tour Wraps, Winn, Black Widow or Super Stroke (non putter versions).

I think I'll trial just one and see how it feels.
I usually fit my own, I'd imagine you have to get these fitted all identically bang on line otherwise you'll get a different feel with each club.

The standard way of fitting them is directly down the underside of the shaft but I have come across people who have a weak or strong grip that have them aligned slightly off centre to suit how they grip. If you are trying just one then I think driver would be a good choice as the tendency is to swing harder with that club and you may benefit from the more secure feeling

To me yes but it is quite subtle, as Ethan says, a lot of people don't even realise they are using them.

A warning about fitting ribbed grips to a driver.

If you have an adjustable hosel on your driver you will be gripping for 1 setting only. If you adjust the loft via the hosel the rib will be in the wrong place.
