Had a fitting for a new set of clubs 2 weeks ago.... next day start getting pain in lower back..

2 weeks now I’ve been in agony, cant straighten my back out for a few minutes when I stand up.

Think it’s time I went and seen about it... it’s unbearable at times

Have had a pinched nerve in my shoulder/neck since the start of August and have played through it, since the season is over I've taken the last couple of weeks off. Almost gone now and plan to play at the weekend.

Rotator Cuff injury for months, playing tomorrow then physio on Thursday.
I take a few painkillers before each round and takes the edge of it.

Do you get pain going down your legs, or any sharp pains with it.

Also do you have any tightness in the hamstrings or glutes, may sound odd questions but do quite a bit of rehab PT work with back injuries may be able give you a few pointers

Long term back issue put an end to my season. Gave up hitting a 9 iron no further than 90 yards on a good hit.

Depressing.

Goal is to get to the root cause of it and improve general strength and flexibility over the winter.

Can't honestly remember playing golf when something hasn't hurt...mainly knees but elbows, back, wrists, neck, ankles, hands and shoulders have all had a go.
Fortunately, it's not often bad enough to stop me playing - or I'm just too stubborn to let it...

Play with something aching or hurting every game. Lower back is my biggest issue, which needs a monthly deep tissue massage with my physio to keep it going, plus daily hamstring and ass muscle stretching every night.
Knee cartilages are going, but to ease them I wear a magnetic band around each leg just under the knee. It gets the proverbial taken often, but means no knee pain during each game. I don’t care what anyone thinks, they work for me.

Arthritis in knees, hips, hand and feet.

Shattered my upper left arm in a car accident severely damaged nerve nearly 40 years ago and still troubled by it today.

What is pain-free golf? I can't remember.

Still beats the alternative though.

Got a partial ligament tear in my left shoulder that isn’t doing me any favours at the moment.
Got weekly physio and hoping to be able to join the royal cinque ports outing in November. It’ll be an interesting game if I make it as I havent swing up a club since early July.

A the the risk of seeming rude (because the underlying message is more important than seeming rude) but the only acceptable reason to be posting with those symptoms is that you are already in the GPs waiting room and have nothing better to do there...
Get seen by a GP and, if he refer's you to a specialist go quickly.
Your body is telling you something's wrong and about the only guarantee is that it won't repair properly without the right course of action, or treatment, and it will get worse.
At some point in your life you will look back and wish you had taken it seriously; earlier.

Not rude at all mate and your right

But I know it will be painkillers to mask the problem

I was gonna go to a chiropractor but I’m doing small stretches to see if it helps and when I finish my shifts this week (mostly seated and won’t be helping the problem) I’ll see where im at

If nothing else is affected that's not a bad sign, in my experience of working with people with golfing back injuries it's mostly down to weakness in the core muscle groups (abs, obliques, lats & lower back muscles) as well as the glutes. Due to the rotational nature whilst in effectively a bent over position all these muscles engage throughout the swing whether you know it or not.

My advice see the quack get fixed then afterwards once mobile seek a little workout plan to strengthen these areas to prevent further injuries and help protect it. You dont need expensive kit or a gym membership there loads you can do at home, if you struggle to find to anything drop me a PM & happy to give you something you can do in 15 mins at home with no kit..

Nothing as bad as mentioned already but I have just had a procedure on my thumb that I had been delaying until nearer the end of the season.
