Mizuno fli hi driving iron that I carried along with a 4 wood, the driving iron/4 wood combo was fantastic, the 4 wood was long and high and the 2 iron was low and running.
I used the set I just gave away for about 8 years, but really only did 3 or so rounds a year or a stint of 3 months in the summer at weekends.
When I took up golf seriously last spring I went out and bought a driver and a 5 wood. I do not think I will get on with hybirds, I much much prefer the 3 iron!
I also have a 1940s 2 iron that I love hitting, I hit it so well I was tempted at one point last summer to put it into the bag. Hitting it feels fantastic.
I will be using the 3 iron of my new set frequently!
It all stems from those first few forays into golf ages 12.
My clubs for 2 summers were a 3,5,7 and 9 pinseeker blades. Still have some survivors around at my parents house. I intend to rescue them in March!
