Played my first comp yesterday, yellowball 4some, had a great laugh with 2 members i hadnt met before, really was some epic banter and some great golf played. :) The 3 best scores each hole were counted with 3/4 handicaps, one had to be the yellow ball, we came in with 101 points, not too shabby considering holes 3&4 were closed for remodelling.

Handed the card in to be told we were in first with about 4 groups behind us, proceeded with 2 swift pints and a wait for the captain to announce us second on a count back. I had a great days golf and was really happy with placing in my first comp.

The only slightly annoying thing was not being able to know if i ended with a PB or not....I hit 7 pars 8 bogeys and 1 double bogey, so gross 71 (par70) but missed out a par 4 and 5. If i put myself down for 2 bogeys it would have been an 82 with my previous best of 84 coming a few weeks ago...ah well i guess ill never know but what a great day, just thought i'd share. ;)

Sickener, but you seem to feel it is a pb, so hang on to that thought. Sounds like you had a great round!

I've had some really high scoring rounds, but still felt I've played well, so sometimes the score doesn't tell the whole story.

Sometimes the score isnt a true reflection on how you play.

Anyways, sounds like you enjoyed yourself.

Cheers

Yeah in my head i know it was most likely to be a PB, on the rare occasion i played a bad shot (by my standard) the next made up for it. As you say sometimes good rounds arent always reflected in the scores but this round was different, for the first time i felt i was playing well and the score was good too, twas a great day and i did really enjoy it.

Cheers Robb. :)
