What's the reasoning behind the scrapping of General Play? Some Guys I know only play 2 or 3 compy's a year just to keep the H'cap going. If they're playing from the yellow tees on wednesday afternoon and one of them comes in with a 5 under SSS round off a 15 handicap, as long as he's put the ball in the hole, why shouldn't he be cut? He's got a scorecard that differentiates between white and yellow tees, its a measured course - what's the problem? If it had been a Medal he'd be cut in an instant.

Not being stroppy - I just don't understand.........

Because it's not a round under 'competition' rules so you might tell someone what club you hit, or show them the line of a putt - there is no pressure....

CONGU, quite rightly in my view, want to get people playing in more competitions so that their handicaps will look after themselves.....like I said before you cannot and should not create a system to accommodate people who want to have a 'false' handicap....
