Why would anyone Scottish, English, Welsh or any other affiliation to the UK want him to lose?
Go on my Son - get in there!

Murray to win, even if he is a Jock

C'mon My Son

Wouldn't it be nice if the whole of the UK got behind the England Footy team at the world cup, in the same way that Endland got behind the Scots in 82 and 84

That wont happen Fragger old son. There are many many open minded Scots who love their sport but when it somes to supporting the English footie team a lot of them revert back to default mode

Well done so far Mr Murray , I for one will be rooting for you

My thoughts are mainly ambivalent. I don't really care. I like Feds, and like him to win. Murray is a prat, with no personality, but is British, so may be it would be nice for him to win. Trouble is, I just don't warm to him, because a/ he is scottish, and b/ he has zero personality. Good tennis player though.

I cannot warm to him and don't support him.

I want him to lose any time he plays against Federer, especially in a final of a Slam as I think it would be great for Federer to extend his record in Majors and close the debate on whether he is the greatest tennis player ever.

Murray is utterly and completely dull. His beautiful girlfriend just dumped him because when they were at home, he preferred to stay up at night playing his XBox rather than hit the sack for a bit of slap and tickle with her. Enough said really.

Come on Fed! Kick his bony arse!

As much as I like Federer (who is playing really well) I want Murray to win I think he is the first british tennis player of my life time who can win the big games and the big points, so come on Fella !!!!!

Re the dull comments I know what folks mean but I'm trying to think of any tennis players who aren't dull. McEnroe and Connors, Roddick and maybe Agassi (off his face) are about the only ones in my time.

Borg - the definition of dull!
Sampras - pretty blooming dull!
Federer - hardly a laugh a minute!
Nadal - moody and pretty dull!
Becker - jumped about on court but monotone dull off it!
Edberg - Swedish utterly dull
Willander - an emotionless stuck on baseline robot!

Come on Andy but I fear the Fed will triumph again. :(

Good players Murph but only 4 majors between them - the really top players nowadays seem to be dull, bit like in golf - the sports psychologists train them from a young age to stay very level emotinally to encourage peak performance. Shame really, sports needs characters but they are thin on the ground nowadays. I liked Henri Leconte, he's a proper Frenchman.

Even though I am English through and through I still want Andy Murray to knock seven coloured bells out of Federer and claim the title. So in the words of Jack and Victor from my all time favorite comedy show Still Game "Ave it up you's"

.......... Murray is utterly and completely dull.

Snelly, I can see your point but Beckham was as dull as dish water when he was younger and it took years of PR training and life experience to give him the confidence he has now.

He will never be a PR gurus dream ticket but his work ethic is what young kids should use as a role model and perhaps not professional footballers who want to blame everyone else for theor failings.
