American Golf - Powerbug Trolley

Hi

I have a mate who has one (he got it through e bay). Seems pretty solid and has been totaly reliable. Does the job as well as my Go Kart, BUT Go Kart do give a much better warranty and the price differance is small.

Edgey

I can help you on this one. Ive got one and its great. Its quite, robust and if you get the 36 hole battery it will last a lot more. If you have a Costco near you, they have the 36 hole ones for £220 which is brilliant value. If your worried about the guarantee, dont as i had mines 3 years and saw they brought a newer version of it so said mines was 'broken' and they gave me a straight exchange for the newer one ;)

I have had a Powerbug for 2 years now.

Good solid sturdy trolley which runs quietly.

Would highly recommend them

And the GK is one ugly golf trolley

The GK team have been very good to me. Even when certain issues have not been their fault. Free issue grippy wheels. Free issue redesigned front wheel housing. Replaced the motor when it burnt out after someone knocked it on at the nineteenth and was trying to drive against a wall. Replaced the battery charger and battery when the charger packed up and over-heated the battery.

And the use of a loan cart when mine was in for a new motor. Though it was turned around in 48 hours. Free collection and delivery.

Okay. One could argue all night about whether better quality components should of been used in the first place. But. A friend of mine has a Hillbilly Terrain. Twice the price, but in two years it's had a £200 service, and more recently the rivets that hold it together have bust. He had to take a day off work to have the service done.

I know which I would choose.

Now the question is... what would you rather do?? send the trolley away all the time but guaranteed good service?? or get a good trolley that doesnt break and never worry about any of these breaking issues?? ;)

Be honest how often do you play(in a week)

During summer at least twice a week and during winter probably averages one every 2 weeks.

Why??

I have a Powerbug, ex-demo model I got off e-bay.

If the new models are anything like the older Sport Bug they're virtually a cloned Motocaddy, mostly the same electronics on a different frame. Built to destroy tank traps but after sales is in Reading and you ship it yourself.

Like Motocaddy, they aren't ergonomically friendly - you'll need a big boot.

Mine is currently in need of some attention (if I can find someone locally) as it gets the hiccups occasionally.

For Motocaddy users, it's worth checking Powerbug's site before getting Motocaddy electronics as at one time they were cheaper. Oddly Motocaddy wheels, which fit Powerbug, are the cheaper.
