So I am looking to buy a set of taylormade m cgb. Looking around direct golf is the cheapest but they only so 5-pw for £500. American Golf is more expensive but they do price match. However they offer an 8 iron set 5-sw for £950. So I'd be paying £225 per club. Would ag match the 6 piece set then sell the gap and sw to me individually. Or lower the 8 piece price? Or neither since direct golf don't offer 8 piece set.

Not sure how to go around this when I goto store today. I just feel £450 for two extra clubs is far too much.

Why not simply ask AG - after all its only their response that will matter.

They aren't going to put the prices up because you asked!

Am I reading this wrong. 5-PW for £500, 5-SW £950. Is that not only 1 extra club, the SW?

Even if there are 2 wedges missing, pay the lower price, buy 2 specialist wedges. They can be TM if you want to keep the same branding but an extra £450 for 2 wedges doesn't add up to me.

Ask AG but be prepared to walk away. Nice problem to have.

I assumed that he had a special 8 iron set available at £950, inc a GW.
The basic AG set for these is 7 clubs, as you suggest, at a price of £849
Direct golf have a 6 club set at normal price £729, currently on special offer at £500.
As you say, it's a no brainer really - take the special offer from DG and either use existing wedges, or treat yourself to a couple!

Exactly what I meant, sorry for confusion. Spoke to the store, after a bit of time on the phone, they agreed to price match the 6 set for £500, and get the GW and SW for £118 each, so £214 saving, pretty happy with that. They where alittle shocked that direct golf had them on sale for £500, said its extremely cheap,

Like many have said I wouldn’t worry about getting matching GW and SW, you get 2 x wedges for roughly the same as one (£118).

No criticism of the OP here but in this day and age it does make you wonder why (in this case) direct golf should even bother with making decent offers/discounts
