Alterations to WHS?

I’m not.
Im challenging your statement that ” there’s fewer calculations “
There was no calculation under the old system so how can

No need to round unless your handicap changed.
Never once self adjusted.

so no calculations .
Cant get lower than zero.!
Wasn't this all pre WHS when no matter where you played no matter how difficult the course you used the same handicap.

WHS was supposed to level the field.

Handicap committees currently have to enter all non-GB&I scores.
Why are those different from rounds done in England? Apart from the physical, technological inability to input foreign scores yourself, they are no different from scores at the course down the road. I suspect your club has to do it because of the inadequate technology in England rather there there being a golfing reason.

True.

The tech we use to enter our scores simply doesn't have the course data for courses abroad

When I play in England in May, if I want any or all my cards to count, I have to bring them back to OZ, what happens if I have a very good score 40+ points on the first day ? my handicap does not change until to I return to OZ and have the card entered ?

Am sure my mates over there will not be happy with me playing on an incorrect handicap.....or is it correct ?

World Handicap System where you can’t put your cards in from another country dosnt sound to me like it should have the word World in it!

Dont think self adjustment is included so you will just have to be a Bandit on your holiday.

Yes where no calculators ,apps or boards were nessesary.

Some think it has , some think it’s a cheats charter.!

We have a member who travels extensively across the world playing golf - at some great courses ( not jealous) - he emails his scores, both GP and Competitions, back to the Club regularly, not quite daily but close to it. We input his scores manually and it keeps his handicap current for wherever he plays.

Interestingly, he has 354 scores in his record and in his last 20, he has two home club scores, the others are Greece, Kenya and Portugal.

As in a 32 man roll-up where they don't apply 95% ?

"Act with integrity by following the Rules of Handicapping and to refrain from using, or circumventing, the Rules of Handicapping for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage."

Last trip I shot a 69 on the red course at The Berkshire, so hopefully I will have at least another day out on my trip.

Surely there's no reason to save them all up and you can send your scores back each day by email?

Being an informal group of golfers and not a union affiliated organisation, they're under no obligation to use WHS at all. Many such groups run their own handicap system, which is perfectly ok.

I disagree with perfectly OK, when the collection and redistribution of money is involved using a system that is unfairly advantaging some and unfairly disadvantaging others.
When this is being done knowingly and deliberately, it is clearly wrong.
Agreement or being complicit with something that is wrong does not make it perfectly OK, in my view.

I went to France last year for a week's golf. After each round, I sent my card back to club handicap sec. By the next morning, each day, that score was on my record and handicap up to date.

I guess it depends how active your club handicap sec is.

So I turn up in England with an up to date handicap certificate, send my cards back by email, they then post me a new handicap certificate, from my memory it will arrive by UK post after I have gone home, not to mention what other games I have played.

If I want to lower or raise my handicap it looks like a very easy way to send in bogus cards, how in OZ can they verify them ?

Sorry if by playing Devil's advocate it upsets you.

Am a member of two clubs but where my handicap is recorded, I would be lucky for it to be updated weekly.

Could they not fax you a new one?

I'm not sure what you are worried about.

Pre WHS, if I had a weeks golf at my HOME club, let alone abroad, I'd rely on submitting my scores and my club handicap sec verifying them.

With WHS, I at least don't need to do that in my own country. I still have to do the same if I go abroad though. Just because WHS has managed to spoon feed golfers for 99% of golf in their own country, it still requires the handicap sec to get involved for foreign rounds.

I don't understand what you mean by posting handicap certificates or sending bogus cards???? You could submit bogus cards on an App at home if you wanted, so I don't see the difference. Who do you want your club to send a paper handicap certificate to? Would you like them to frame it as well :)

I do not carry a fax machine, plus I will be moving from county to county, so no fixed address.

Guess i will just arrive with one handicap and use it for my entire stay, so much for WORLD HS.
It's a pity you are a member of the club that doesn't allow you to take full advantage of WHS. So looks like you'll just have to follow the same procedure you did pre WHS.
