Alex Salmond - Charged

Outta interest and I don't know the answer, I have seen the charges against him, and at the moment that's all they are. However are the claims from just one person or several. I am of the understanding that if an identical scenario were to happen in England, the CPS would decide if there were a case to answer. What is the proceedings in Scotland.

I think they have someone called The Procurator Offiscal who decides. Someone from Scotland will probably explain.

My understanding is that there are (at least) two accusers.

Is he a friend of Wee Krankie or part of the SNP? If yes, then not guilty. If not, then charged with everything under the sun.

The Record reported it in Aug 2018, after the Scottish Govt reported it to the Police. Whether or not the Record had it before then... can't see them sitting on it. Most media reporting it the day after the Record.
 
What will be with Mr Salmond will be, whether found Guilty or not Guilty. If it is the former, questions will be asked along the lines of Who knew? That in itself could be a bigger story than these allegations. Watch this space as they say.
 
As this is a live case under Scottish Law some folk would be advised to be careful with what they say/type in a public domain.
The Procurator Fiscal will decide if the charges will go to court, so perhaps ca canny with the ' he's guilty' type of comments.

Dont know that anyone has suggested he is guilty yet on here. anyway we know socket rocket and he knows procedural fishfinger guy thats looking into it. And he dare not cross Fragger so alls well

In Scotland perhaps, in England I don't think it matters as it's a different jurisdiction. Bit like Ryan Giggs injunction thing a few years ago, didn't apply in Scotland so the press up here went for it, reversed with the Salmond case maybe?
