So, I have my clubs. They are all intact and not broken.
However, the flight bag was ripped to shreds, all handles ripped off etc etc. My Stadry bag main body was intact but the hood is also ripped to shreds.
The carrier had tried to patch the top section up with wrap and duct tape, so obviously happened pre flight.
To be honest, if you gave me this option on Tuesday night I would have snapped your arm off. I think, what saved the clubs was my tennis racket I put in the club dividers to add strength which sat proud of the clubs. I shudder to think what state they would have been in if I had no racket. I took my driver head off and bubble wrapped the shafts so that was good.
So, lessons to learn............I only do this trip once a year and whilst insurance is nice and you may get most of your money back eventually, you still have no clubs so would have to hire them. I have also totaled the value up and it looks around the £2,700........blimey.........I will have a look into insurance but this will surely be around the £80 pa.
