Played an aggregate stableford comp this morning, both scores count for the full 18 holes. Quick question for any others who have played this format, do you play it as qualifying rounds for the individual scores? Seems it isnt at our (though they plan to cut the winners - our hcap committee still use the 1990s rules) and I was surprised as couldnt see any reason as to it not being a qualifying round, even though technically a pairs comp
 
7.2 The following returns are not acceptable as Qualifying Scores:

(d) Scores returned in any form of competition in which competitors play in partnership with another competitor in the same playing group

If that is the case, why don't illegally chopped players lodge an appeal? There is a laid down appeal procedure. I'm sure the County Union would be very interested to learn of the club's actions. Frightened of the committee?
