It is Graham here. You sorted me out a couple of weeks ago and I sent you a mail.

Really struggling with this one as it says I have Flash No 11 but I cannot find it.

Graham.

I have downloaded Firefox but still struggling. Just been down to local Computer shop tonight but he is on holiday unmtil 23rd Sep !!!

Graham, you dont actively do anything with flash, it just sits there and when a program that uses flash is started, it just kicks in and allows you to watch.

are there any programs that dont work, or can you try Iplayer

If its working then I dont think you have a problem

Cheers

It states I have a more upto date version than 10.3183.7 but I cannot find it. I have Adobe AIR, Flash Player 10 plug in, Adobe Reader.

Ok lets stop and take a deep breath

Simple question, If you try to play a video or something from the Iplayer, do you get an error message or encounter any problems?

If not, then you dont have a problem, Flash player isnt a program you select to use, it just sits in the background and kicks in when needed.

You wont find it in your list of programs although you will find it under control panel, programs and features / or if XP Control panel, add remove programs.

If your PC is working, then chill man

Sorry to crash, but flash is a pain in the backside.

I haven't "done" anything with it for years, I use Google Chrome.

For some reason, I thought there was an installation these days that looked after itself if you wanted to download it manually, and let it update as necessary.

Maybe it's a 64-bit thing?

It staes when I try and download a clip from YOUTUBE I need Adobe Flash Player.

I have tried to download Adobe 10.3 and a mate came round and unsuccessfully downloaded Adobe 11.

When I get to downloading Adobe 10.3 now it states at 50%

'newer version installed'

I have tried to download Firefox but probably still have Internet Explorer running

Computers and me do not mix

As far as I know, flash 11 is not a finished product and is just a "release candidate" for people wishing to test it.

If you go to the control panel in windows and click programs and features (if it's called that still), windows will tell you what is installed. Flash player stuff should appear at the top of the list, as it's by Adobe.

If windows reckons Flash 11 is installed, you will see it listed.

As you can see, my Flash *which updates automatically* has not got to 11 yet!

If it was me. I'd uninstall 11 and probably everything else as well (maybe not AIR) and revisit the adobe website and go for it again.

From the sounds of it, if you are trying to use Flash 11 and it's not working, there's an issue with the new version.

The website is usually good at showing you a movie/animation if flash is installed, or giving you a nice button to click on the install.

If you visit this website you can download the Flash Uninstaller program
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

Download it, save it to desktop, Run it, restart the PC then download version 10 again

Hopefully this should give results

Good spot Fragger.

I love uninstallers, they save me so much trouble.

I've used AVG uninstaller and recently an HP (printer software) one. Theoretically, if they do the job, you can make a fresh start.

Now, can anyone suggest a good wi-fi manager for kubuntu?

(joke :))

An uninstaller program is little more than an admission that your program is full of bugs and cant be uninstalled in the normal way.

In my humble opinion :D
