Mobile phone charging issue

Samsung say here https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-M/Phone-charging-only-on-restart/td-p/4709964 to charge it for a least 10 minutes with the 'phone switched off.

A suggestion here https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S21/Will-not-charge-unless-re-started/td-p/2226779 is to switch it off, rather than restarting.

Thanks. I've tried that as well and still no joy. Our company mobile provider have told me to order a replacement which I can do but it just seems daft when otherwise it's working fine.
