Adjustable woods

Recent posts made me think about my woods, I have custom fitted irons with the correct lie angle for me but what about my woods? I was fitted with my woods with the right flex shafts for me but never thought about the lie angle.
Is the lie angle so critical with woods. I never heard of the option of lie anjustment before the likes of Titleist 910 D2. Shoule we be looking at adjustable heads now as standard choice.

Do you mean driver as well as 3w, 5w, etc.?

Increasing the lie on driver doesn't have much effect for most golfers, IMHO. If you are very tall, or very short, or driver has unusual length shaft, then lie may have an effect (squaring the club, off centre hits). I think there is relationship between loft and lie on some adjustable drivers, but someone else in know is better placed to help!!

On the fairway woods, lie could be a factor if you are taking some turf. Woods are designed to sweep the ball, but if you dig, then the heel may catch and turn the ball over a bit. Looking at the grass and tee marks on the sole of the club will tell you about your lie angle.

I did mean all woods, but the hybrid is one club that usually pulls left.
It was the advertising of lie adjustment that got me thinking.

I was up at Taylor Made recently getting fitted for the R11 TP Driver and 3 wood, and Piece is indeed correct, there is a connection between loft and lie........

I know this sounds bizarre and I couldn't get my head round it, but the guy from Taylor Made says increasing the loft actually makes the face more closed.........

example the standard loft of the 3 wood was 14 degrees and I needed the face set on closed(2 degrees).If I increased the loft to 15 degrees the face would in effect be 4 degrees closed.I got fitted for the standard loft of 14 degrees and set on closed..................

but since getting the 3 wood I have been tinkering with the settings and I am now hitting it best set on 13 degrees and OPEN...............

I need a lie down in a darkened room lol.
