Not Adam the person or ant, but does anyone use any Adams golf clubs or has so. If so what type of club any you're experience. This is further to the Tight Lies fairway wood that I tried and was impressed with.
I see they've launched a new driver Adams xdt at a cool cost of £329.00. Reading an independent right up it says the shaft itself is worth £200 alone and is the real deal not a made for shaft.
Thoughts welcome folks....

I have a set of A12 pro Forged irons and they are the beat irons I've ever had, currently keeping a set of AP2's out my bag.

Adams are owned by Taylor Made now

Had quite a few in my time - not irons, though they have a great reputation too.

#1 Hybrid on Tour and for good reason. There's an Adams hybrid for every purpose and it's normally pretty near the best. I actually unwittingly had the exact combination of (Adams) hybrid as Tom Watson when he came so close to winning The Open.

Had several Adams 3-woods over the (BSG) years and they certainly did what they said - even with the BSG hype! There are still some 4060, 5050 ones about of that era and they still perform - the numbers represent percentages for Tee and Fairway use.

Adams also made/make great Drivers. I still regret selling my 9015D/TP7, though i know where it is, so it may return some day! And the 9064LS was really good too.

Adams have always used 'proper' shafts matched to the club and they are often Matrix (yeah the BSG hype did eventually work!). Adds a bit to the 'new' cost, but great for we 'value hunters'!

So I'm a fan - even after a year's ownership by TM!

Currently using a pro ideal hybrid and that knocked two very high spec amp hybrids out the bag that were fitted with expensive upgrade shafts... So as above I'm really sold on their woods/hybrids

As for the irons , I owned cb2's for around a month. Very very good irons but not quite as good as the tm CBS so I put them back in the bag. Contemplating the xtd forged though.....

I'm a big fan of Adams gear, as you can see from my signature.

Your question specifically asked about the driver, so I'll focus on that…

I was fitted for an SLDR which, when hit out of the middle and went straight, went a country mile. The issue I had with the SLDR was that I found dispersion questionable and I found ball speed retention on off-centre hits was lacking, so I decided to try the XTD. The SLDR and XTD had the same shaft installed (not the same make, model, etc. – I removed the shaft from one before hitting the next, i.e. it was the same shaft) so this was a true head-to-head test.

The results of that test were that the longest hits with both drivers were about the same, average distance with the XTD was better (which I put down to better ball speed retention on off-centre hits) and the dispersion of the XTD was incomparably better than the SLDR. I’m also incredibly happy to say that what I saw followed to the course and I don’t remember feeling as confident with a driver as I do today with the XTD.

I’m not knocking the SLDR in any way. Unfortunately, my driving is somewhat inconsistent meaning I require (particularly lateral) forgiveness and the XTD offers way more of that than the SLDR.

Adams make great clubs… not just great hybrids, but great clubs.

I've got a set of Adams hybrid irons , the idea A 12 s and they are great especially for me as I have a slow swing speed.

I had , and have still got two separate hybrids which were in my previous bag of clubs and I love them so much that I got my curent set because they were great in every area.

I have never had a Adams driver though so can't help you there I'm afraid.

Mab, thanks for the reply very useful and encouraging.
I see you have the xtd 3 wood, how do you find this as I'm gonna try now after trying the Tight Lies 16 degree. Though the Tight Lie will take some beating this felt fantastic and gave great results.
I want to test the xtd before I plunge for the Tight Lies. I'm off 16 so it will be interesting to compare and see if it's harder to hit.
I was really impressed with the Tight Lies that came with a Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara 55 shaft.
