Hey guys,
Anyone know of a digital accurate golf range in essex so i know exactly how far each of my clubs travel. Ive got a new set of mp59's (so damn good) but they differ from my old clubs so i need an accurate way of telling what they are doing distance wise without worrying about wind or anything. American golf simulator was way out. Any idea's

There's urban golf, in Soho I think it is

Top golf in chigwell does something like this I think , check their website

I'm not sure you can take your own clubs to TopGolf? I could be wrong. It's more a place to go to play golf games etc.

You can, it's just a glorified driving range that gives you points for distance and hitting certain targets. I'm not sure I'd trust it to be accurate for measuring distance however. In fact, I would trust anywhere that doesn't use real golf balls to be accurate for distance.

To the OP. The best suggestion I can make is either find somewhere with trackman that uses real balls, find yourself a field on a calm day, hit some shots and measure the distance yourself.

Or do what I do, take my Nikon range finder with me and zap the targets before I start. Two ranges near me, one dead accurate, even though they use crappy balls, the other signs are 20 yds shorter than what they say, with crappy balls .....

Hi,
No good for Essex, but in case anyone needs similar in the South West.
I started using the Windmill golf range just outside Bristol last week. They have 100% distance 2 piece golf balls, and the targets are lasered from each bay with a print out on the wall of the bay telling you exactly how far each flag is from that bay.
The only problem is that at the moment it's too bloody dark in the evenings to see where your shots landed!

Sorry I have no idea about Essex.

Sorry, too late to edit it

But how do you tell exactly where the ball has landed? If you want accurate yardages you need to be able to know exactly where it has landed. From 150yds I'd guess your accuracy is +\- 5 yds, maybe more, which is no good for the OP. Plus, you're still hitting range balls which, 100% distance or not, are still range balls, have been hit a million times and sit out on the range in the wet and cold for days on end. You cannot, in my opinion, gather accurate yardages at a driving range with range balls.

+1

This is the most accurate method, real balls in real conditions

I was thinking of the yardage markers. Even if the range did have a scope, there's no guarantee that their balls will be any better though.....

The closest one I know is in Gakuen Toshi, radar in each bay and tour quality balls, I will be frequenting it for 3 weeks or so next month

Haha love the picture of that range, I see each bay has a fan whereas my local range each bay has a heater......and most of them don't work!

Does the OP have a practice ground his club? I have always found hitting some proper balls and in my case using my sky caddy to measure average distances gives me a +/- figure of around 4 yards which is fine for me and my ability
