Well first of all I would like to say hi, having been absent for so long. So evening all.

Today I finally put a consistant round together in the Monthly Stableford and had 43 pts, with four 3 putts! Getting closer now to those dizzy hights of single figures :). My next step is to make this scoring more of a formality without the lucky bounces. The secret of the day was taking my 19* rescue of the tee rather than risk a driver, mainly on par fours, this did mean that I was hitting the rescue in the green again but I was still getting onto the green in regulation (12/18) giving myself birdie chances almost certain pars, off my handicap that meant three points. Happy days :D.

Well done and good course management. What caused the three putts? Were you being too agressive and trying to force a birdie from long range or just bad reads/strokes.

Keep at it as I'm sure single figures is well within your grasp soon and hopefully you won't have used all your luck up before you play next week

Happy Days indeed mate! Hope you enjoy the 2010, I started Par, par, par and failed to break 100, be warned its a beast. Hoping to arrange a game around the other courses soon with the squire. Might be worth sending him a PM as he is a great bloke and sure to offer you some sound advice.

Rescue off the tee and into the green, that will have some forum members falling of their seats! Good shooting and course management in my opinion, keep up the good play and get that handicap down.

Striking the ball like a dream which is good as I'm playing the twenty ten course and the montgomery next week.

I played both courses two weeks ago, both excellent courses. The service down there was very good too, a great experience. Not personally at a handicap level low as yours, and wish I played then like I'm playing this week, but thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The 2010 is a tough course, especially in the wind and rain that we had, but I did manage a couple of pars and to birdie the 17th, so was happy as Larry when we finished. Take an extra club coming into the 18th green.....

The Montgomery is a very attractive course too, for me, the more scenic of the two. We were advised to take a buggy for the Monty, it was worth it. The course is very hilly, and there are some long walks between holes and around woods to get to fairways.

The concierge service was very good, but just check with them on the morning of the second day that your clubs have been delivered to the course. Ours were still in storage but we picked them up on the way through.

We had a great time and are thinking of going again later in the year.
