A good end to 2010

Happy new year to you all.

Just wanted to share the good week of golf I have had this week.
Tuesday played at woodlands in Bristol, main tees and greens. Shot a 73, par 70 for 45 points and cleared up the money in the society day.

Friday played last round of the year at my course, kingsdown. Main tees and greens. Shot a 74, par 72 and a new pb.
All this off a 12 handicap. Whoops ;-)

Here's hoping 2011 continues in the same manor, starting today at kingsdown!!

Hey Scott , I was a member of Kingsdown for 6 years. Loved it there as it drained superbly up on the hill. Still got some good mates playing there

Played again this morning, shooting 39 points with a couple of blobs so the range time I have put in over the last few weeks really seems to be paying off.

Figures crossed its not just the golfing gods teasing me!

No handicap cut as none competion rounds. 1st comp for handicap is next weekend, weather depending!

One thing I do like about Kingsdown though is that all the par 5's are reachable with 2 good blows. Not the case at all here and is probs why i'm a couple of shots worse around here than when I played Kingsdown.

That used to be true. The 5th has had nearly 40 yards added and the green has been turned side ways with 2 huge bunkers and big run off areas. Will be in play in next few weeks. Can't see many reaching in 2 now

Moved the tee back or the green into the rough by the 2nd ? I landed on the 5th green once when cutting the corner going for the 2nd

Played a 1st team match one day and the chap knocked it on the 5th with a 3wood and wedge...yeeks...he was off +1 and very willowy

The tee has been moved back towards the wall behind the 4th green and the green has been turned sideways so moving the centre 15 yards further back. It's now going to bring the bunkers on the right back into play off tee, as for alot of people they are carrying them easily

I see , however , they wouldnt put the tee back when I was there cos it brought the 4th green into play a bit more. I used to find those pesky trees on the right just past the bunkers. Played sideways out of them more times than I care to remember.
