Lovely wee track especially when the sun is sinking behind Arran.

Thoroughly enjoyed it - the second probably has the most spectacular backdrop to any hole I've ever played.

Also played Port Bannatyne (in a howling gale) and found it a great little course. Have to disagree with Dodger's description (goat track), bit damp but the fairways and greens were in great nick.

The Port is certainly an acquired taste!!!!

Surprised you didn't also play Rothesay GC, it has spectacular views, probably one of the most scenic courses in Britain and some nice holes as well.

Saving Rothesay for next time. The wife has played virtually no golf for 10 months for health reasons so trying to ease her back into it without over doing it.

If she's got life insurance get her marching up the first hole at Rothesay! If you love her best wait till she's fully recovered. Glad you enjoyed Bute, its a cracking place but a bit run down now in places.

The Port IS a goat track.

Love Kingarth,there was talk of the Marquess making it into an 18 holer which would be interesting.It is a stunning location.
