Hello,

Had a little look around and can't find much regarding this.

What tips or knowledge can people share that they do/prepare for there round or do during it to make things a little easier.

Here is my contribution:

  • When playing in the Rain and my glove is not in use I Velcro it to the underside of my open umbrella
  • The tees, ball marker, pitch repair etc. That I keep in my pocket I put these in a little pouch so I don't have to dig them out of the tee pocket every time.

When I've got the rain hood on my bag, I stuff a couple of towels inside and on top of the clubs so that the rain doesn't get in when I open the zip. With the kind of rain we get the zip doesn't have to be open for long for everything to be soaked!

Playing in the rain... forget the umbrella they only work in zero wind, forget wetsuits they just make you sweat and lose you 20 yards on your shots, the trick is to remove clothes in the rain not add more layers, get wet and carry spare shirt for when it stops raining, wear shorts to prevent the trouser bottoms getting muddy/soaking wet. Couple of spare gloves and a towel... sorted ;)

Oh and make sure you put your spare packet of cigs into one of those zip-loc freezer bags

I keep spare gloves in clear sandwich zip bags
My copy of the Rules of golf lives in a zip lock bag, ever since i desperately needed to consult it during a round and discovered that all the pages had stuck together after being drenched and dried in my bag

Make sure you have plenty of balls , food , drink , spare gloves , all weather gloves , towels , rule book , pencils , tees , that covers it i think for equipment , Now get to the course early , check in enjoy a coffee/tea or a light bite to eat if needed , down to the net and hit about 25 shots , then onto the putting green to get your putting done , feel for distance and then hole out a few 3 footers before going on the tee to start your round , never go to any golf feeling rushed , it will spoil your day more often then not

I always pack a few full stops too, just to prevent me running out of breath reading 6 line single sentences:D

Towel under umbrella, spare towels and gloves in a seal-able freezer bag and most importantly, take the head cover off my woods and hybrids.

Playing in the rain ,, simples , buy quality rain gear

I play golf in all weathers i have 2 good wet tops , Light short sleeved FJ , and better long sleeved Sunderland one ,
i keep my spare towel in a plastic bag in my golf bag , and i have FJ rain gloves , even tho i dont normally wear a glove at all . take off the head covers off driver , 3wood & putter , saves them wetting everything as they get wet

Not sure how it got to just a Playing in the rain thread but..

for normal rounds i make sure everything has its own place in the bag & in my pockets saves all the messing around looking for stuff , one ball in my pocket , 2 in the holder on the trolley, all different numbers but marked the same .

Preparation i guess
