How are you getting on with yours?
i'm booked in for a fitting on Thursday after many months of putting it off.

I have no clue on shafts (spose thats what the fitting is for)

What shafts did you try and end up with??

I have no idea what my driver s/s speed is but my 6 iron is 92 when on the mizunno
DNA and have quite a smooth / moderate transition.

Do you mess about with the settings much or stick to what the pro recommends for you?

Cheers,
Jim.

Would not swap mine. Great feel and looks. Like any club get the right shaft in it and then it is just down to you to swing it properly. The good thing with the D2 is that shaft can be removed in a matter a seconds due to surefit. Have mine set to neutral so if I hit I slice I know it is me, dont want something that masks swing faults. I have 2 shaft the Ilima and RIP the Ilima gives a higher Ball flight and is the more forgiving of the 2

yup love mine, all the woods are quality in that range and make a gorgeous sound (unlike my playing partners Nike which sounds like a lump of concrete hitting the floor)

Love mine, only other club I would swap for is the i20.
Its a very simple and elegant club to look down at. Teamed with the RIP shaft I couldnt ask for a better driver. I also have mine set to standard, but the ability to change loft has been used.

I've got mixed feelings about mine. Shape of head, confidence it give at address, looks, feel of the clubface all wonderful. Shaft is another matter though, which is the Diamana ilima in regular. I really feel I should have got stiff, so I'm heading off for a shaft fitting and see what the outcome is. I haven't bothered adjusting the loft/lie, as I can hit any number of different shots with it in A1 position!

That said, it really is a lovely driver.

I'm just panicking that they'll say it's my swing! :(

How about matching the 3 wood, go with the same shaft as driver and try get a deal on the web or get that fitted seperately?
Because the size, shape and weight of the 3 wood's head is very different, you may find that the shaft in the driver doesn't give you the same results with the 3 wood. I'd go for a fitting in that too.

I borrowed one from a pro for a week and with a Diamana stiff shaft as he measured my swing speed at 104mph. It's the first time I've used a stiff shaft and the dispersion was much much better and I play at a course that punishes you if you are just off the fairway. I need to get the pennies together and get one for sure.

I dont have the 910 driver but thought I would comment on the settings question you asked. I find that with the 3 wood and hybrid that once I have selected the lie angle that works best for me I don't change it. I have mine set wide open and although this sounds dangerous its actually about the lie angle not the face angle as there is no or very little offset from the shaft position, I am just looking to get the club head as flat to the ground as I can.

I set the lots angle based on my club gaps and have not changed that but may get rid of my 21* so will change it at that point to refit the gaps.

I find it more of a fitting tool than something to always be playing with. However my buddy changes the loft for the wind conditions so there is scope for both.

Tried the fairways are found them quite an unforgiving club to be honest not ones I would give consideration to buying. The Driver is quite forgiving though. The RIP shaft is great when you are striking it well but very punishing when you aren't so the Ilima is fitted at the moment a lot easier to use IMO and gets it airbourne a lot easier

Have a D3 not a D2 as well as the 3 wood. Have Motore F1 shafts in both, heavier and a bit stronger than the stock options. Personally find Im happier having same shaft in driver and 3 wood though I know plenty who have different shafts

I have the same shaft in my driver and fw and get on fine with both.

I must admit though that sometimes the club doesn't hit the ball straight down the middle.

At your ss I'd guess the standard shafts that might suit best would be the Ahina and Project-X but you never really know until you give them a bash.

I love my D2, I have the Diamana Kai'li Stiff and it's the same in my fairways and hybrid. My SS is low to mid nineties so don't let anyone tell you your SS dictates shaft flex as it isn't always the case.

I've just tweaked the face angle on my driver and 3W to neutral as it was set to the most fade setting and I don't need any help hitting a fade but that's all I've changed.

I've got a 910 d2 sat in the garage at the moment, I was fitted and came out with the diamana ka'ali stiff.
To be honest I was never really happy with it from day one, I just struggled for any kind of consistency with it.
I thought about changing the shaft then I tried a Ping g20 with the stock stiff tour shaft, and found it much better for me, much more consistency, better ball flight and about 15 yards longer.
I'd used Titleist drivers ever since the 983k came out, but maybe I might be a ping man from now on.

The D2 is a nice club , I have the Aldila RIP 60 shaft in mine. The jury is still out whether this shaft is best suited to me though. I can swing it really well but struggling to get the consistency I want with it. I may swap the shaft out and try something else to see how things change.

I have the D2 with 61g ilima stiff - love it, hit it long (250/270 ) and straight set at A1

Also have the 17 degree 910F 71g ilima stiff Set to A1- love it but it can be cruel off the tee sometimes.

Fitted for both on trackman.

Cheers

I started out with the RIP and found it to be quite unforgiving when not swinging at my A game. Try a few other shafts out loads out there I did and bough a Ilima which is much better all round when swinging good or bad.

I love my D2.

Went to Titleist for a fitting and paid extra for the shaft (see my signature). Havent done that before and whilst I enjoy using it I do find I get mixed results - but - I now never look at the club and start doubting, I know its the swing I have out on it - to be honest, we all know that but before I always wondered whether that stiff shaft in the Callaway X460 was too stiff or if the regular shaft in the G10 was too whippy etc etc.

But when I am swingning well i love it and it performs well, the adjustments I tend to leave neutral but have had a muck around with them on the range and games with mates etc.

The shafts in my 3w and hybrid are both the same but different to the driver, it was actually the 2nd choice for the driver. I find them forgiving enough, the FW's come in F and FD oprions, the FD has a deeper face and is perhaps better off the tee, the F may be easier to hit off the deck.

I cant recommend it enough and am sure it will be in my bag for a few years yet...
