Even though it's an easy course by pro standards at the Greenbrier on PGA tour, a 59 is still some achievement, especially in the last round and to win by a shot!
One of my favourite golf swings too. Haa been a terrible putter lately but not today clearly!
28 on the front nine! :p
Well done Stuart

Am I right in thinking that Appleby lost his card this year and has been relying on sponsors invites to play in the main tour events? If so, makes his victory and his 59 even more of an achievement. Have always thought he was was a good guy so well done to him.

Typical Sky coverage though.
Missing crucial putts and then blaming it on someone else.

Dont quite get this quote, The golf we see is fed by the US Broadcaster, It only cuts to the guys in the studio when the broadcaster has linked it to the local station.

So dont see how sky coud be blamed when the coverage has nothing to do with them.

Gutted i missed the last round now, as i had seen the previous 3. Loved the green like a roller coastee with the big dip in the middle

Yep, and he has missed 11 cuts this year ..... so whatever he is doing it's working.

It's quite simple. I pay SKY to provide me with coverage of PGA golf. If they fail to do that adequately, then I blame them. I'm not interested in their excuses.

What a ridiculously narrow-minded way of looking at it.

As has been said, SKY have *NO CONTROL* over the video feed as it comes straight from whichever broadcaster has the rights to the event (in this case, CBS). Even if SKY wanted to provide their own coverage and send their own camera crew over there so you don't get all upset, they wouldn't be allowed as only one of the Networks have access to the rights of each PGA tour event. Which is why you might sometimes see different networks cover the same event over a weekend (US Open for instance was NBC for two days and ESPN (I think) for the last two days).

If it bothers you so much, why don't you cancel your subscription?

I'm well aware of the broadcasting rights situation, but I pay my money to SKY, so that's who (I complain to/cancel my subscription to.)

It's people like you that don't mind getting trod all over and accept poor service that allows companies to compromise on the service they provide.
If there were more people like me then they might buck up their ideas.

It is up to Sky to negotiate with NBC or who ever to continue the feed during the ad breaks for the foreign service providers. If no one complains to Sky, they will never do this.

Haha. Ok.

If I thought they could do anything about it, I would complain. But I know full well that they can't. Complain away though, it's your breath you're wasting, not mine.

A little of topic fellas...

Nice shooting from Stuart, I saw the start of his round when he was five under through seven holes and thought he was on for a sensational round.

Yea, sorry. I meant to comment actually. I only saw the back part of his round, but he hit some incredible shots. And that putt on the last, for someone who has been terrible with the putter for a long time, was sensational!

I'm glad he won it too. Jeff Overton seems like an utter tool and although he played great golf, (and had that final putt gone in on the last, it would have been a good way to finish), his moany-ness annoyed the hell out of me.

Hadn't seen Greenbrier before this weekend. Looks like a nice golf course. I was more focused on Salahee and the Seniors though. That golf course is awesome and ridiculously difficult. And right down the road from where I used to live when I was in the US.
