My regular playing partner finally got it together on Saturday & tore the course apart. After 2 years of playing off 26/27 it started to come right about 4 weeks ago with 48 points in a friendly (a few 6" gimmies so no GP reduction). Then on Saturday he couldn't do a thing wrong (chipping in for a birdie on SI1 helped a lot!)

He had the nerve to be "gutted" 'cos he lost out in the trophy (max 18 HC) on countback!

Our captains day was won by a high man who hit a purple patch - 47points (with a ding) 2nd was 41 he chipped in on SI2 and putted from all over the place.

That was the highest score I knew about on a comp - good on him - hope he gets another 5 shots off in the next month or so as he must be capable of playing to it.

As he played to 15 last time out and 12 this time, I dont think he'll have much problem playing to 21/22

53 points won one of our stableford comps the other week and they wernt even off a stupidly high handicap, someone else came 2nd with 50 points in the same comp, bet he was gutted when he found out he got beat!

33 points won ours last week and 2nd was 28 points, its a tough track in the wind and rain though with sss higher than par and CSS higher than that every week

Hell of a score !!.

Best option if its me scoring well (of course) but I really enjoy playing with someone who is 'on it' for the day. Happened recently in a comp when I played with the winner - my game always seems to respond well to the challlenge and spur me on with them - great to be part of it.

Glad I don't play at your place, that's just obscene. Your h'cap secretary has some serious work to do to sort that out. To score 53 points I'd have to shoot 7 under gross, it just ain't right I tell ya.

that would be an incredible feat.

Even 45 points for us lot is almost impossible.

Never seen two scores that high in the same comp but I'd have been pretty gutted to have that many and still come second.

was 1 under thru front 9 on sunday & turned with 24 .. even if i had been able to do the same on back ida only had 48.. b fair sick if id done that and was 3 short .. thats mad scoring .. id say there was raised eyebrows at that..
