My club has a 4BBB invitation on Saturday, shotgun start at 8am. I thought I was going to be away on business, but that was cancelled, so I can now play.

The comp is off the black (back) tees, so it will play up to 6850 yards.

Proper club handicap needed, and lunch and nice prizes available!

Send me a PM please.

Fantastic course you have there Ethan. Unfortunately didn't do it justice yesterday in the Trilby Tour. Despite having 3 birdies I blew it with 4 blobs.

Greens are awesome as are the views.

Have a great day Saturday. We've got our 36 hole club championships, but would like to play BL again sometime when there aren't 2 million Sky TV viewers watching your first tee shot!! :o

I popped in this morning and all the banners and flags were still up. Hardly recognised the area around the 1st and 18th. The assistant told me they were all togged out yesterday too.

I will be waiting for it to appear on Sky Sports!

If I'm on it, then I hope they choose the par 3 where I put it on the green and rolled a monster putt to 3 feet and then holed the par putt..........and not the 18th where I stuck my 2nd in the greenside bunker.....thinned my 3rd almost into the opposite bunker, duffed the chip, missed the putt and then sheepishly picked up for a blob!! :o :D

I don't remember seeing a camera on a par 3. The only ones I saw all the way round was on the first tee, the 13th green (one of seven :o 3 putts for me), and the 18th green where I got up and down from 10yds back left of the green and the cameraman wasn't at the camera.

It was behind the 14th. The one with around 170 yd carry over water with the huge lake and mansion behind you on the tee....gorgeous hole. Pin was on the far right of the green on the front and I put my tee shot on the far left.....couldn't have left a longer putt!!

He filmed us all the way off the tee, walking down to the green and then reading the putts then walking off to the next tee.....I tried to play it cool and not look at the camera as I walked off the green with my par, but I think I might have been caught having a sneeky peek.....will probably look like a right nob!
Either that or it will be on the cutting room floor as I didn't qualify.... :o :o :D
That par set me up nicely as I birdied the next hole, the stroke index 2 15th for 4 points, only to then finish blob, 1, blob.....doh!! :o

Oh right. Hopefully he wasn't there or filming when we played it.
Paul (Smiffy's mate) said always play to the left of the green.
Ethan said always play to the left of the green.
No need to carry on methinks!

On the other hand I did play a nice wedge to about 18 feet from the drop zone :o

On the advice of my caddy I went with my hybrid there and hit a beauty to about 8 feet. Couldn't buy a putt all day (putted like a plum but didn't have one 3 putt all day. Work that one out!). Walked off with a solid par though.
One of my playing partners (James) playing off 16 (12 on the day) hit a bloody 8 iron pin high there. An 8 iron the best part of 190 yards....

The cameraman was at the back of 13 when we got there. The par 4 where you hit off over the lake and lay up to the ditch?
He would have seen me hit a lovely drive straight down the middle there. Position A. Then oink my second shot left of the green. Then duff my first putt from the fringe. Then duff my second putt and put it 3 feet past, luckily I made the return for a 2 pointer but it should have been 3 from where I was off the tee.
Story of my day.

Enjoy the game on Saturday - no golf for me this weekend or last weekend - need to get one in before they ruin the greens in the first week of August!

Damn fine caddy that guy, and an excellent player. Oddly he's never around when I need him and often get club selection wrong.

The course was set up lovely though and the ball was rolling lovely on the greens, shame my boss for the day couldn't hit any putts online!

They should leave the banners up all year - makes the course look even more special.

Sooooooo tempting, given i could just walk up the road to get there.

Unfortunately it's Captain's Day at our club, and teh Captain's my best mate

I like Bearwood Lakes, but i also like my Best Mate's Captain's day ............ FIGHT !!!!!

Hope the weather holds up too

Anyone who can possibly get there should put their hand up. It's a great course, still set up from a big comp on Monday, and the greens are superb.

I'd love to myself, even with a 130 mile drive each way but I'm off in the other direction on hols.
