42" driver on tour

Good to know. I chopped 1" off my 917 a couple of weeks ago and haven't had chance to try it out yet.
I'm used to a shorter driver and I just felt like I was loosing the 917 a little at the top of the backswing.

If you find that you'v ruined it mate then I know where there's another going cheap

I chopped 3/4" off my Titleist shaft and added 10g of lead tape to the head.
Result - more fairways hit, and because my confidence is up, my swing more powerful, so I hit it further.
I tried no lead tape initially, but just could not feel where the head was at all.

I am going to try an experiment tonight at the range. Im going to take the shaft out of my 5 wood, and put it in my driver, to see what it does. Saves getting the hack saw out!

if you pop in a shorter heavier shaft surely you don't need to add lead tape, swingweights just a number anyway right.
