I'm pretty rank with the 3 wood off the deck but I rarely practice it but I'm really starting to think I should do so more as although its a relatively difficult shot to execute it can be such a good thing to have in your arsenal.

Do you Practice it? or is it just something you never contemplate these days as usually it's a shot racked with danger?

Funnily enough out the rough I probably use it more when I'm just trying to bunt it down rather than go for it as I find it a useful club in thick wet rough

Never, just stand over it on the course expecting to hit it like Henrik Stenson

It's not a shot I play a huge amount of the time really, use 3w off the tee a lot but not so much off the fairway.

No, fairly reasonable with the 3 wood of deck and tee. not always the case and Struggled with it for a few years.

I know two scratch players who can't hit a 3 wood and carry 16deg hybrids instead

One of my strengths!

A couple of Winters playing seriously long links courses rather helped! And the 13* Tour Smoothie I used for summer was rather handy in the 'breezes' too!

I've adjusted my Adams 15* to be 16.5* and the 13.5 is pretty consistently long, straight and low when required. These have transformed my game on Par 5s recently!

Don't practice much anyway, but less likely to practice Woods off the deck. As long as my thought is 'swing through the ball' they go well!

Fortunately I have a 3 wood I am completely comfortable with so have no hesitation hitting it off either a tee or the deck when required.

Never, but then I don't carry a 3-wood. I have a 4-wood that I hit off the tee, but rarely hit it off the deck. Just don't see the point. I'm not good enough to be aiming for a green from 220yards. The only time I might consider using it, is if I've got plenty of fairway to work with and still 400 yards to go.

Since getting the Fly-Z 3 wood i've felt a lot more comfortable hitting it off the deck, it absolutely flies when struck.

Hit a 560 yard par 5 in 2 at Carden park which I was very chuffed with!

No tee here, practice or course. Off the deck (from the teebox) and mats at the range (when I did practice). Don't use a tee when practicing and it will help get the feeling of hitting from the fairway.

It's no a shot that is part of my game plan so I don't practice it.

I could master it I'm sure and I won't rule it out but I doubt I would go for it on he course unless it's a no loss situation.

I regularly hit a Driver, 3-wood and an 18* hybrid off the T's and also take 3-wood and hybrid off the deck, I use the 3-wood or hybrid when the driver is giving me a hard time, I hit both 3-wood and 18* hybrid to around the 200/210yd mark so don't really need the Driver on our course...

Most weeks i hit afew shots off the deck with my 3w, use it on course when i duff a drive etc. Currently working on swallowing my swing to hit it cleaner
