3-Man Scramble in "HowDidIDo"

Is this just your experience at your place though?

As a pure coincidence we have our first Texas Scramble next week snd the sheet opened tonight, as 2 minutes ago the sheet is full from 06:50 to 12:40, 36 Teams.

Looking at the teams, one team has handicaps of +2, 3, 6 & 7 upto another team with handicaps of 16, 20, 22 & 27.

Those 2 are the extremes, every other team has a mix, some single figure teams, some in the high teens.

Comp will be with the WHS allowances and we have no issue getting people to play them.

Is it the way your committee are “selling” these comps that are the problem?

The scramble competitions have been going for over 20 years , both long standing comps that have always been heavily supported from 7 until 2/3

What is it they need to sell - we know why some people have stopped playing them

You’ve said they are only being half filled and are in danger of dying out.🤷‍♂️

We are experiencing neither of those things, so I’m trying to work out why your Club seems to have such an issue.

The percentage allowances for 4, and probably 3 player scrambles, are all wrong. It used to be the lowest handicapped team that won in UHS days, now it tends to be the highest. 2 player scrambles seem to work out fine.

We have a 2 ball one coming up

For some teams to get 2 shots in a scramble and some to get 17 for me it ridiculous
