3/4 from lowest player is the norm but max 18 hcap seems hard on any very high handicappers - dont know whay they have max 18, maybe because th ecourse is playing short on winter greens, don't know?

It's the norm in matchplay but not strokeplay. Any winter league I've ever played in has been based on stableford points so handicap difference hasn't had anything to do with it.

max 18 isn't just hard on the high handicappers, it's a positive bias in favour of low handicappers, after all they're not being docked up to 10 shots just because the course plays short.

We also play 3/4 but have a Max of 24 which seems a lot we better also play matchplay.
