2nd round Matchplay.

Well after a monumental battle in the first round I played my 2nd round last night.

FC was a 18HC so I received 3 shots.

Started off going 1 up on the first with a great par..

Then, when receiving a shot on the 2nd, I only halve the hole with a duffed chip being the culprit.

3rd halved in par's !!

4th I lost due to OOB on my second shot trying to be clever coming out of tree's.

5th halved in pars and lost the 6th to a par.

7th halved with bogies and lost the 8th to a par.

So 2 down with this guy playing some really good solid stuff.

I got a shot on 9th and took advantage and then won the 10th with my first ever par on that hole (450yrd par 4)!!!!!

Halved 11 and 12 then messed up the par 3 13th (AGAIN)!!!! to go 1 down

I receive a shot on the tough 14th but still lost the hole to a rare par on there, so 2 down.

I then had 2 puts to win the 15th and mess that up, my first 3 put in ages......

Forget the US open this was pressure........

He then parred the 6th to win 3 and 2 !!

Great match and he admitted he had to play out of his skin to win. approx. 11 over gross for 16 holes....
I also played some good stuff so wasn't too disappointed.

Still a highly enjoyable match with a decent fella.....

Roll on Saturday.....

Thanks. The par on 10 felt like an eagle after my last couple of rounds.....

Unlucky Jack, sounds like you played well. Certainly better than my 2nd round of our Matchplay. How's this for inconsistent golf from both myself and my opponent:

I was 2 up through 2,
3 down through 7,
1 down at the turn.
All square after 11,
3 up through 14,
All square after 18 (he holed a 25 footer for birdie and to go to extra holes)
Lost on the 19th

Awful golf!!
