2nd hand driver

I know this is pretty much open too opinion however I don't currently carry a driver in my bag. Up until now I've been using a fairly chunky slazenger 3 wood.

Ive been looking to pick up a 2nd hand one for around £50 it has to be fairly forgiving aswell

So far I've been looking at:

Taylor made burner
Nike sq sumo

And recently an mp-600

Any recommendations or am I overlooking an obvious option.

Like I said open to suggestions.

any of the Taylormade R7/R9, Callaway FT9, Titleist 909 or Ping G5 would be decent if you can find one on budget

I have a Cally FT9 in my spare bag. Very forgiving but launches a bit high for my tastes. It is very long though. Might be willing to let it go if you're interested, and the specs are suitable.

Certainly one to consider. What spec is it?

It has the fujikura stiff shaft fitted. Standard length. If you are interested then just pm me and I can send some pictures. No pressure, it's just sat under the stairs waiting for the 910D3 to have a bad day.

If you want forgiving then go for a higher loft. 11-13 degress. My HS9 (got it from Gibbo on here) is 12* with an M speed reg shaft and as long as I remember to keep my swing slow and easy it works very well. Problems start when I try to take my normal faster swing.

Hard to say without knowing if you are any good...

Burners are long (the shaft and the potential distance ) and wouldn't be my recommendation.
mp-600 was a better players club with the adjustable business, so I'd say MX-700 far better choice.
Ping G10s are now cheap, as are all the Old Nike stuff, some of which was very good indeed (although I hate to say it). Big Bertha Diablo?

Just don't go buying "players" clubs or low lofted stuff if you are not great....

The R5 was a cracker.....people should be giving them away by now.....

between the r7 and r9 id go for the r7 all day long. the r9 looks amazing but ive never hit it as well.

Yes, great clubs....but hard to control.

I had a TM Burner 2.0 and it was good but has a longer shaft than most other drivers and I therefore changed it as my rear is nearer the ground than most!

Bluewolf's t9 is in fantastic condition but only has a loft of 9. I'm a fairly high handicapper will I struggle with such a low loft.

Cleveland drivers can usually be picked up stupidly cheap on eBay, any of the launcher drivers would do the trick.

Generally Cleveland stuff can be had cheap, great kit just not so fashionable a name I guess

yep a great driver tbh and the distance from a very easy swing is a joke, dont know why I got rid in hindsight

My recommendation would be for a high-lofted head with a shaft length not much longer than a 3-wood's (so about 44 to 44.5 overall). The extra long shafts were/are a marketing gimmick to enable companies to say their club was longer - as robot's swing is pretty consistent!
