2017 PGA Championship

I was all about Brian Harman and Rafa, but they had mares this weekend.

Matsuyama is streaky, so if he's got the putter working he's a threat.

Rory owns the gaff. If I had to pick someone to put the house on it'd be him. But at 6/1 I just can't.

So "one and done" for the best of the rest?

Thomas pieters at 50/1. Boys got form and I think most golf nuts would agree he has the game, if not charisma, to win a major. You only need the former. The PGA is a good fit. He was flying at the Masters this year, the more comfortable he gets in contention for these things the less likely he is to fritter it away in a moment of madness.

Not sure Id call someone who has had 6 wins and 3 2nds in his last 20 starts streaky, if it is, its one helluva streak! Stunning ball striking round last night to shoot 61 and Quail Hollow will again be another course that places emphasis on ball striking so expect him to go close

Course wise Rory couldnt ask for a better one, he just has to work out a way of exploiting just how much of an advantage he should have with his driving! Got to hit it closer, especially with wedge in hand

Otherwise its a case of the good drivers of the ball that youd first look at so DJ, Rahm, Garcia, Rose, Fowler, Casey

Loved the way Charlie Hoffman played last night, might be a decent option EW or for FRL

Normally whoever I back has a mare, but I fancy Stenson to do well, he's been threatening to play some great golf lately. I might make him my next victim. He seems to be around 40/1 most places. Zach Johnson has been playing quite well lately, might be a dark horse for each way.

I only have accounts with Sky Bet and Paddy at the moment, and they're both doing 8 places 1/5 odds.

Fair point, what I'm trying to say is he's likely to get a lot of wins together (back to back or close enough to), then go a few tourneys without.

Good old Charles. There's a guy who has cost me over the past year or two/ If I had a quid for every time he was looking in great shape and then bottled it at a big event I'd have a lot of pounds. Defo worth a bet, just cash out when they're offering you something decent :)

It seems that Coral are paying 1/5 on 10 places, so I guess I'll be creating another gambling account... Any of the others doing better than that? Ladbrokes are 1/4 on 6 places I think, but I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

its marginally better if your player comes 1st to 6th, much much worse if they come 7th to 10th

bear in mind those offering more places are generally offering a worse price so you will suffer a bit if they actually win, but are more likely to get some return from the number of places paid

If it helps, Coral are 1/5th first 10, Bet365, Stanjames and Paddypower 1/5th first 8, Hills are 1/5th first 7, Ladbrokes and Betfred 1/4 first 6

I've not finalised my selections but I've had a bash at Lucas Glover ew 250/1.

Yeah, after posting I went on Oddschecker and noticed Coral's odds for every player were generally worse so I stuck with Paddy and Sky since I already have accounts with them.

I've got Stenson 40/1 (Sky), Hoffman 55/1 (PP) & Z.Johnson 80/1 (PP). All tiny each way bets.

I fancy Rory this week but odds are too short for me.
Stenson looks value at 50s
As does Day at 33s
And Rahm 28s
