2016 Gross Eclectic Challenge

Who fancies a wee bragging rights bit of fun?

Obviously an honesty based thing where you keep a record of gross birdies and see how you fair by the end of the season at your home course during medals.

What would you expect your gross eclectic score to be over the year in medal play?

According to HDID I have managed only 4under in each of the last 2 seasons...going to try for 6under this year.

How have your scored over the last couple of years and what would you target for 2016?

Just had a quick look and for me its 14 under - 3 of the par threes plus SI 1 , 3 and the last but two eagles

So im going to aim for a birdie on every hole

We keep a record of this over the course of a season and the winner gets an engraved glass with scores on it. I won it in 2012 with a score of 48 which is 17 under. I was 5th this year. Below is a link to the 2015 results.

Only in qualifiers, or all rounds? 68 (-4) in the first and 60 in the second.

I'm saying qualifiers/medals.

I'm saying qualifiers/medals.

I've checked on HDID and my Eclectic Score for 2015 was 67 (-5) for all qualifiers.

According to HDID I had an best score eclectic of 58 based on the last year of results published (Par is 72)

Probably typical of the year, even though I had quite a poor year in general.

Its a par 4 but only 263 yds

Found it on HDID (once it cranked into life) and my gross last year was 67 (-3)

Sounds like a bit of fun..just checked my 2015 scores and can see I managed 12 under.

At least two of those shots I won't achieve this coming year.... one was an eagle at a par five, holing out from 150yds, the other was a birdie at our SI1 hole....a 456yd par 4 that I just can't reach in 2 shots... the tee shot is 300yds uphill.... but on this one occaision I flushed a 3 wood from 230yds to 3ft from the flag.

Still those should be offset by birdies on some holes that somehow I just failed to achieve on 2015.

My tournaments are a bit different as they are normally 36 holes at different courses.... Let me have a think and see what I scored....

In qualifiers last year - just 8 under 62...par 70
In all qualifiers since '09, according to HDID is -14 or 56 gross...
In all rounds at Aylesbury Park its -23 or 47 gross!!!
At my last club it was 42 gross(par 71) -29...!!!

That's impressive. What do you play off? You must be disappointed with the 2 pars.
