2016 Goals

my goal for 2016 is simply get back out on the course as im still recovering from injury from last august.
its getting closer as i have been to the range a couple of times and hitting it half decent . just need to be able to walk a few more than 50yds at a time .

Do you hit it more than 50yds at a time?

Not been on the forum for a while, so where better to get started again than with my goals for 2016!

The is to get the handicap to 9.4 or lower from the 12.6 that I am just now. Feel like I have done some good work over winter so hopefully the scores will follow.

I have practiced all winter, replaced almost every club in the bag and spent time working on my strength/fitness so it's all got to fall in place hasn't it... lol

A few vague ones that are only doable if I simply get better at golf and get more consistent with it.

However, the one thing I would really like to do even if just once would be to bring my "A" game to a forum meet! Fingers crossed for Dundonald!

Join the Club - we've got Jackets!

One goal will be to string a few rounds together without a 3 week gap!
Can't seem to play more than 2/3 times before a layoff caused by work, weather or holidays...

I'm currently off 28 but have been putting in some work with my pro over the winter in the hope to achieve some of my goals for 2016

Goals are as follows

Score 30+ points on a society event
Place in the top 3 on a society event
Have confidence to hit my driver (never used to carry it)
Get cut to 24 handicap

So yesterday was the first event of the year.. 3 out of 4 of my goals achieved already.....

34 points.. 3rd place.. Used my driver on every tee that wasnt a par 3

Boom

Already had a 1 shot cut in the end of season review so now down to 13.2. Would love to get that to around 10 this year and win a few more medals. Play in at least one match for the team and get into at least 1 Final also.

Lots of things to achieve and lots of work to put it but i know I can do and I have the passion to do so.

I also want to play half decent at the H4H meet!

Not much, long since passed any expectations of distinct targets. Scratch would be nice but getting a shot back would work too.. Would still like to learn a few more shots, especially from the bunker so I'll go with that. Always like a trophy too if possible but don't wanna be greedy 😁

Well first comp out for me today. Came back with an 88, so that's one goal ticked off the list. Should have been lower, except for an air shot on the first tee and a 3 put on 17. But never mind I'm happy with that.

Not really got any goals, but am determined to stop making dumb decisions and mental errors on the course.

First qualifier today. Failed.

Drive into right rough and no shot to the green. 140 to go with a ditch about halfway.
Instead of chipping out and taking double out of the equation I tried to chip a hybrid to short left of the green (could've got to within about 40yds) and stuck it into the ditch.

Idiot.

My goals for this year are:

Enjoy myself as much as possible on the course.
Get a handicap of below 18.
Win an event this year - I know it's in there, I play a good game usually - just need to keep it together when it matters!

Sadly, resigned as captain from my last club.

Joined a new club, so new challenges..!

Played the new club for the 1st time last week, and loved it.

Ideally, over the next season would like to drop my handicap by a couple of shots.

But realistically, going to go back to batting a ball around manicured fields with my wife and boys and enjoying it again.

This.

But for every round. I'm bored of scoring in triple figures.

To put it another way: I aim to stop being so 5h1t.

I ought to be able to do it! My all-time eclectic best score at my home course is 66 (par is 69). More meaningfully is that my best score is 96 at that course (Beckenham Place Park), and 94 overall (Falconwood).

So much for that.

Last Wednesday I scored 97 (49, 48), with nothing worse than a triple. "That's it!", thought I, "The line has been drawn, the benchmark has been set, I'm never scoring 100 or over again!"

Saturday: 108 (51, 57), which included an 11 on the 15th hole.

Bugger!
