I know that if you are playing a proper 4BBB match and one player cannot play, you can still play the match 2 against 1,and you calculate the shot allowance as if the absentee was there.

However, this is just a bit of fun- one Club section against another. However we ladies are a team member short, so rather than one of the chaps dropping out, we may have to play 2 of them against one of us.

Obviously, there is no official hcp allowance for such a match, but what would you suggest?
And would that depend on whether the lady's hcp was similar to the men's, or a lot higher?

I think you just play the match according to the theme of the day (fun) and make the men play off scratch and also give your player a couple of levelling shots

or you could just treat the HC's the same as if there wasn't a player missing and gloat even more when you win :)

Good luck with your match

I'd suggest you play a 'Best Stableford' match with the Single off Full Handicap an the Pair off 3/4.

That way id doesn't matter whether it's the Man or one of the Ladies who is the low handicapper.

Probably works best if the handicaps are reasonably close. If the Lady is significantly higher than both, you could consider 1/ handicp.

Another possiboility is to play the Men, in this case as a Foursome - Alternate shots.

Only any good if the handicaps fall right, but I played on my own against a 10 and 12 once with no shots given and it worked out quite close.

How about the single gets double handicap?
Or the single has par as a partner?
