It's been a lovely day down here with some warm early spring sunshine, fluffy clouds just a bit breezy. A thin band of rain this afternoon wasn't needed but didn't change my mood about it finally being March.
Roll on some better weather and some better golf.

Bit of everything today, decided against playing, need the temps to reach double digits on a regular basis now, had a 1hr lesson with Pro on the course last Saturday and got one of three 1/2hr lessons on the range this Saturday.

Felt good to even be down to just 2 layers this weekend. Completed backswings and much improved ball striking the result.

Light till gone 6pm......nearly time for some after work praccer!! :)

Only 2 layers on today despite some high winds. Greens starting to come good course starting to look a lot better. 39 points nice little cut to start off the year.

Really strong winds and a deluge on the 1st tee this morning. Yep definitely looking up. To be fair though we've not lost as many days closed this winter through snow or waterlogging and haven't been down to just one nine either that often so I'd say we got away with an OK winter, certainly here and I am aware others further north didn't perhaps fare as well. Just need some warmth to get the grass growing and to get some layers of clothing off

Quite i nice morning here, one of my mates wanted to play today as i don't usually bother on a Sunday if i play Friday. strong breeze all good till we got to the 17th Green... it lashed it down and got soaked within mins, so we just walked in off the 18th tee.

No thermals today. What a cracking day to play golf. Bit windy, but course in nice condition, and greens starting to speed up.

We played our Captain & Pro today in a challenge match, the wind at times was brutal and the match is played off the back tips, still it was sunny but in those conditions the pro had a real advantage.

Had a few lessons lately that have really helped and am now playing better than for years. New AP1s on the horizon, I reckon I am playing at about 18 at the moment. 1st March, good golf new clubs happy dayzz.. Bring it on!

Played a better ball comp with Ads749r. I played really well in the conditions and we were flying. Disaster at 9 and both three putted the par 3 11 after finding the green. Hugely annoying as it sounds like we were a point off the lead. My man took time to get going today but did well over the last few holes. Not quite up to his recent standards when we've played so was nice to be able to carry him for a change. Definitely a missed opportunity for a win.

It was bright and brisk this morning, that turned to icy rain and then it blew a hoolie and we got a real battering.

I'm also warming up nicely for the season and feel better than I ever have, especially with my new club, it feels like home already and can't wait for all the official comps to start.

Top of my bag has changed introducing a 3w and a hybrid.

Loft & Lies sorted to my irons.

Won a couple of things already or always been in the frame, except at Oakmere where I was pants.

Looking forward to a busy March with some great courses and meets lined up.

The Centurion
Burnham and Berrow
Blackmoor
The Berkshire

Walking (mapping) courses all over the Midlands I can say that we are all desperate for a decent spell of dry weather, so many courses are wet and need time to recover as the water tables on these courses are so high and the smallest power shower and you've got standing water again!

Roll on Summer..

Played on Saturday and it was the first time this year that I've been able to use my pitch mark repairer properly on the greens; soft for the first time. Still a month away from the first qualifier though. :(
