Played my first competition with my new irons today. On 31 points after 13 holes, managed to par the 16th for 3 points but the other 4 holes were dings. Amazing how often I finish like this after a good start.
I tend to play comparitively well in the wind. Of the 4 comps I have won 3 of them have been in awful weather. I have won with 35 points twice and 33 once. I had 32 on Sunday in very high winds but my biggest problem was hands so cold I had no feel on the greens. I think when the weather is bad...
I think it is done on a voluntary basis at our place, but it used to be very prompt, but recently results seem to be taking ages. Still no idea about last Sundays result. It's nothing I feel the need to complain about was just wondering if it was the norm.
Typically how long does it take your club to publish competition results? Recently has been taking up to a week at my place. Still waiting to see how I did on Sunday.:confused:
As long as you play at a reasonable pace (or are willing to call me through if you're not), replace divots, repair pitchmarks and behave in a respectful manner towards other golfers, I couldn't care what you wear. I'd take a pair of jeans and a football top before some of that Loudmouth stuff...
I would love to get my handicap down into the teens. Have eventually turned a corner and my handicap is begining to go down. Hit 28 for a few weeks but since then I have consistently played well. Had 40 pts yesterday in terrible weather so expect another cut. Could be back to 25 where I started...
