Sometimes I don't get as far as using my putter, because I have sliced my driver into the woods 3 times off the tee!
Its driver for me...all the way. If I could find fairways I would have super high confidence, which would translate into more holed putts.
Don't get me wrong, many clubs are licensed fitters with one or more manufacturers. My club is licensed with Ping, Callaway and Titleist I think, and they have the custom fit gear. BUT, in a typical fitting session there are enough variables to consider without having the added complication of...
Deducting the fitting charge from the purchase price of the club is a common ploy by club pro shops. I guess you are paying for the pro's time, which if not spent with you could be spent generating revenue from lessons or whatever.
I think some manufacturers charge for fitting process...
My fitting was with a club pro. The advantage of a club fitting is that you have a range of makes, and the pro may not have any bias towards a particular model. The disadvantage of this is that there are a lot more variables. For example if I went to Ping for a driver fitting, I would be fitted...
I had a driver fitting last week and was a little underwhelmed to be honest. Did some stuff on a launch monitor and my club head speed was getting up around 105mph. I asked whether a stiff shaft may be an option and was told flatly that my swing wouldn't suit one....it would have been nice to...
Played two medals this season - scores of 99 and 101 posted. The 101 contained 6 gross pars, and 3 holes where I shot 5 over par :)
Putting has been relatively good. Problems are stemming from the tee it seems, where 3 off the tee is a regular occurrence (5 off the tee on one occasion)...
I guess, but Nicklaus had a proven track record at Augusta.
Campbell just seems to come last in every major he plays in. It must bring his playing partners down surely?
Makes a bit of a mockery of the whole exemption thing I think. Isn't this year his last exemption year?
I found the whole thing rather hard to watch....Hazel Irvine pretending she knew everyone...."Hello Mr Nicolas", then pretending that she knew anything about golf at all.
I guess its a release from the tension of the upcoming event for those who need that, though if I was in teh Masters I would...
I guess that for the hands to be ahead at impact, the left wrist needs to be at least flat, if not bowed the other way? In which case the left wrist shouldn't be breaking down before impact?
Its interesting as I feel like I have been making much better contact with the ball recently, which I...
The pro didn't tell me specifically how to release the club. The drill he got me to do with my feet together was about timing more than anything, but he was saying "feel the forearms rotating" - i could, and it seemed to work. It wasn't until after my lesson that it clicked I was doing it...
