Zip repairs?

The zip on one of the side pockets of my bag went yesterday.

It’s a Big Max waterproof bag, unfortunately out of warranty.

Is it possible to get these fixed? I had a similar problem a few years ago with my winter pencil bag, took it to a local clothes alteration place who said it was impossible to get the bag on their sewing machine.

I had exactly the same conversation regarding my big max waterproof bag.

Big max gave me a new bag, I sense this is a common issue for them, just seems a shame to bin a perfectly good waterproof bag because of one broken zip.

Mine is 3 years old, I can’t see them replacing it with a new one!

Stick it on e bay. There's a bloke on there that buys the bags gets them sewn up and sells them on.

Just spoke to them. They can do it, repairs from £18, replacement £48. Repair can be done while you wait, new zip would need to be ordered.

Will pop down next week, hopefully repair will do the job.

Yes, it’s a Big Max waterproof bag. I got it as a replacement for a waterproof Callaway bag when a zip went on that

Haven't had a chance to get over there yet. Might go tomorrow if golf is off, otherwise it will be next week.

Took it over to them this morning.

It needs a new zip. I asked if they could do it while I waited, they said no, it will take a week to ten days. I asked if they could do it any quicker than that? They said I could have it back tomorrow for an extra £25. I said no thanks, they then said I could have it back on Tuesday for an extra £15. I said no thanks.

Gets a message about an hour later saying it's ready for collection!

Not sure what to make of all of that tbh. Will pop back over on Monday to pick it up.

£48 for a new waterproof zip. It was one of the little side pockets where you would put your phone / wallet / keys. A bit pricey imo but it was the only option available to me.

So 2 months later, played about a dozen rounds with the repaired bag, zip has gone again.

Not very impressed. Feel i should take it back and get them to repair it again, but can't really be doing with 4 trips through the tunnel, the petrol and the time spent doing that if they are going to do such a half-arsed job.
