Zero Torque Putters? Is it hype or a thing?

Is your golf bag the lightest, the most waterproof, most ergonomic, most hardwearing, prettiest, or all of those?

People buy for different reasons, but I'd say a putter is more based on how few shots per round they result in.

Marketing can play a part of course.

Thread is so off track now, it may as well be about Christmas trees.
I bought a real one from Homebase last December.
It was a very well balanced classic shape, good colour, no needle drop and great value.

It's often not the tree, but the stand I struggle with.
I have a B&Q stand.

It works fine with a 5ft trunk and should cope well with a 6ft. Getting it centred requires some experience and practice. Natural ability not withstanding.
Anything longer than 6ft is likely to be wider and heavier overall and this could affect stability. A higher spec stand might be required in that case.

Did you have a fitting?

I believe 6ft is the cut off point, above that you are more likely to have a bit of lean. Even professional tree installers struggle over 6ft.

Sometimes, even with 5ft, I've needed to employ a bit of deliberate lean, because the tree has uneven spread of boughs.
This is the only way to achieve stability and get CoG directly over centre of base stand.
Appearance is OK if the gentle lean is directly towards or away from the usual viewing angle.
Last Xmas, the tree was very even and easy to erect.

Now this thread has just got silly.

I've come late to the party on this one (I saw the thread and thought it was an old one that had been resurrected).....but it has tempted me to dig out my old LAB DF 2.1 from the cellar and put it into play tomorrow.

Why dont I play it? Its too light and has an unpleasant "ting" to it at impact....doesnt feel solid at all. LAB may have improved matters in this respect with their more recent offerings but I've not been tempted to try them.

Part of the cleverness is in the name. The acronym of their main proponent doesnt claim it, but it is still suggestive of laboratory, science, technical putting development innovation. i.e. that there is a scientifically foundation to these putters. A putter, grown in a test tube, by boffins in white coats, with precision specialist tools to validate the genius.
Genius really. Genius marketing that is.
