Your Golf Clubs Membership Renewals - How Much?!

mine's just under a grand which isn't too bad considering its quite a well regarded course,

you also get a 9 hole course thrown in to, which is regarded as tougher than the main links by the members

Make sure you pencil me in for a round at yours in the Spring....

bladeplayer: Paul is at Bearwood Lakes golf course...... they have naked female caddies and free beer ;)

Bladeplayer - It is way too much to pay but while I can just about aford it I will stay. The norm for a member course in the area is 1100-1800. We do get more than most in relation to quality of course and maintenance, continual enhancements - they are spending a fortune at the moment - free driving range and short-game area, always-staffed half-way hut, food from 7am to 9pm (in summer - adjusted for hours), great service in the bar - served at tables etc, Troon benefits, good-quality club matches, a good club atmosphere and banter, somewhere you are proud to bring guests etc. Also, it is 3 miles by car or 1.5 through the woods, and I feel physically less stressed when i drive through the gates as is a lovely setting. I have to try and justify the cost and when I sum it all up, it is a few beers a week extra - I work away in Ireland a lot or in London so don't have much free time and golf is my one stress break a week. Sorry for the whafle but I do realy like the course and club - what I don't like are the fees!!

JO im there man ... pencil me in for a weekend never mind a round ..

PNW .. sounds beautiful man .. fair play to ya .. also your bang on paying the extra for somewhere you are happy & want to be... rather than paying half that ammount & not enjoying it or wanting to be there..

A great deal for a great course Tim - played it several times and it can be a real challenge in the wind - never played the Channel course (I think that is the name) but it looks nice - my friend says it is tight!

It is nice that they let riff raff like me on at Bearwood Lakes Paul. Not many clubs I would leave mine for, but yours would be one assuming I could afford it.

Our subs are £1250, but as I pay it monthly I never really notice renewals or any small increases. Mind you if HID cancels the direct debit I am in trouble. Hate to think what I spend at the club on food and drink but must be well over another £500 a year.:mmm:

thats really shocking given the quality of your course rich, the only thing that comes close to yours around here is the addington, which is now around £2500-£2750 (cant recal the exact)

£2,000 for membership at my place for me in June.

Includes £170 voucher for use in the pro shop. Might just about get me a pair of decent shoes.
Free range balls and use of the practise area.
Play anytime with no green fee.

Worked out i'm paying £1,500-1,600 a year on Membership + green fees currently, so not too much of a hike in price.

Still a ball ache having to shift dosh around to get the magic £2K out the bank though.

Is use of the practise area/range free in most golf clubs?

We have two practice areas which are both free to use. One isn't huge and is used by the pro for teaching most days. The other one is right at the far end of the course and is much quieter. Our pro will happily give you a tube of balls to knock about if you don't have your own to practice with.

Renewal due at the end of March, to be kept to £285 as last year for full adult membership.
