Last week playing in my normal medal comp drove down the left semi rough on the 8th, hit my shot going to pick up my divot and replace. then with amazement look over to the 9th just yrds away while 2 chaps looking for a ball in right trees. One man booots his ball 30 yrd down without the other guys noticing hopefully for them they noticed a incident earlier and reported him after.Guys been booted out club and I got cut in the comp. Have you ever seen one or played with one

Hcap 22.0 target was 24 after starting at 27.6

Worst thing I ever saw was a lot of years ago at a club I used to be a member of.

Medal round. A guy on a parallel hole hits his ball next to a tree, watch him attempting his practice swing and there is a substantial branch interfering with his swing so, in full view of his playing partners and me, he nonchalantly reaches up with both hands and breaks the branch off.

He got a 6 month ban from the club.

Clucking bell! Thats a bit severe, did he have a history of similar?

Don't think he had history but it was looked on as vandalism rather than cheating.
It wasn't just a wee twig. it was a full branch about 1 1/2 inches thick.
We all thought at the time he was lucky not to be kicked out of the club altogether.

There was a father and son playing together in a medal years ago. We watched the son hoick one left into the trees, then hack it out into the long rough.
As we were 4 holes behind him and waiting for some slowcoaches in front of us we kept watching.
2 duffs later he managed to get it onto the fairway. The next (5th) shot went into the greenside bunker. I turned to my mate and said "that will be a big number".

When we finished the round, we handed in our cards and asked what score was winning. Sure enough it was the son on 73 gross.
We asked to see his card and sure enough, he had a 4 marked down on the hole we watched him.
They were both kicked out of the club that day.

When I was a junior one of the other boys had a bit of a rep for bending the rules, was somewhat creative with the magic pencil and had a bad habit of fluffing up his lie in the rough.

A short stint in one of the lockers courtesy of the junior captain cured him of his nasty habits and we now all look back on it and laugh.

Who says prison doesnt work?
