Anyone played the yellowsome format, i know your opponents pick which tee shot is used for your second shot, but do they always choose the worse one.

Thats what i'm asking , MUST they always pick the worse ball.
Because it might work out that the better player is always going to be playing the second shot.

If the best player has gone to a couple of yards short of a green and the not so good player is 80 yards back which would you pick?

You have to work out the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents pretty sharp.

I would be happier with the 80 yard shot any day of the week, even over water.

We play it on Boxing day each year, we are supposed to pick the worst tee shot, although the winners two years ago confessed to picking best shots in their group as it was Christmas........hardly the spirit of the game...

Only played in matchplay and we picked the tee shot that we thought gave us the best chance if winning the hole not necessarily the worse tee shot.

the 'worst one' is going to be the one that provides the biggest challenge for the team as a whole for the rest of that hole - so the answer is obvioulsy yes.

which drive represents the worst one is a judgement call and will only be an issue a few times a round in normal games - in normal greensomes you have exactly the same equation with the side working out which one represents the best opportunity; most of the time it's blindingly obvious but then again, a few times it can end up in long discussion!!!
